Dear Students & Parents,
I am incredibly proud of this organization! As I reflect on the year we have shared together, I am continually reminded of the hard work and dedication that has lead us to where we are today. I am thankful for the trust that was placed in me to lead us on the musical journey we have been on together since July. Now, as we near the end of the journey, we can look back, remember the fun, and realize what it takes to reach higher levels of excellence.
It is with a heavy heart that I inform you of my resignation from Middlebury Community Schools as Director of Choirs at Northridge High School as I pursue another choral director position for the 2018-2019 school year. I am seeking some different opportunities and relocating to be closer to where I am from and my family. I know you will embrace your new director and continue to take your tremendous amount of talent and refine it into skill in order to represent your school and community in the best way possible.
To my wonderful students…
I have fond memories working with each and every one of you on vocal technique and seeing the “light bulbs” go off as you began to grasp concepts and refine your skill even more. I will not forget bonding with you in class, rehearsals we had, and of course the many competitive performances we participated in together. You are all so very special to me. Now, go forward and challenge each other to be the excellent performers you and I know you are!
To our supportive parents…
Thank you, thank you, thank you! Parents are a critical asset to a successful choral program. Without the support of the parents, the program simply would not function. I will not forget chatting with many of you to and from competitions, many of you bringing in food for Saturday lunches, or the outpouring of support from many towards me as the director of the program. I know you will support your students in their continued pursuit of excellence!
To my colleagues….
Thank you to all of you for your continued support and patience as I navigated directing 0our choral program. We should be incredibly proud of what kind of program is established here at NHS and I am sure it will continue to grow in the future. Your words of kindness and wisdom have meant a lot to me as the year has progressed. I am especially thankful to my co-teacher, Mrs. Catherine Yoder, for her support and wisdom as we have walked through this year together. I have learned so much and will take those lessons learned with me into the future of my career.
I will miss these wonderful groups of people. You have left a lasting impression that I will carry with me. I look forward to seeing you perform in the future and wish you all the best! Now, be excited for your future, sing well, and know that you have made me proud!
Yours in song,
