Starlights is the premier women’s show choir at Northridge High School and is comprised of 36 singer/dancers, 20 band members and 10 crew members. Found by Joanna Armington in 2005, these ladies perform and compete thoughout nothern Indiana. They also compete as a Group 1 concert choir receiving gold atings and “With Distinction” recognition. They have consistently won awards for Best Vocals, Best Visual, Best Instrumental Ensemble and Best Technical Crew. They area consistent ISSMA State Finalists, have been named Grand Champions multiple times and were named ISSMA State Champions in 2012, and for the second time in 2014. Under the direction of Catherine Yoder, assisted by Kyle Barker and John Davis and choreographed by Jeff Cox.
Starlights Concert Choir
Starlights Concert Choir is an advanced women’s choir singing Group 1 and college-level repertoire. It is comprised of 36 singers grade 9-12. they perform throughout the year at concerts and community events and compete at the ISSMA State-Qualifying even in the spring. These ladies consistently receive gold ratings and have received “With Distinction” recognition. In the spring of 2014, Starlights qualified and performed at the ISSMA State Unisex Concert Choir Contest and are now ranked in the Top 8 unisex concert choirs in the state. This group also competes as a competitive show choir. They are under the direction of Catherine Yoder and assisted by Kyle Barker.
