Starlights Show Choir
Starlights is the premier women’s show choir at Northridge High School. They are comprised of 34 singer/dancers, 12 band members and 10 crew members. These ladies perform and compete throughout Indiana and Illinois. They also compete as a Group I concert choir where they were named an ISSMA Concert Choir State Finalist in 2014 and were named “With Distinction” in 2016. They are a consistent ISSMA State Finalist, have been named Grand Champions multiple times and were named the 2015 ISSMA Women’s Show Choir State Runner-Up. Starlights have been named the ISSMA Women’s Show Choir State Champion three of the past five years in 2012, 2014 & 2016. With instrumental sound led by Heather Baker, Starlights are under the direction of Dan Baker & Sandra Manglos, and choreographed by Jeff Cox.
Starlights Concert Choir
Starlights Concert Choir is an advanced women’s choir singing Group 1 and college-level repertoire. It is comprised of 36 singers grade 9-12. they perform throughout the year at concerts and community events and compete at the ISSMA State-Qualifying even in the spring. These ladies consistently receive gold ratings and have received “With Distinction” recognition. In the spring of 2014, Starlights qualified and performed at the ISSMA State Unisex Concert Choir Contest and are now ranked in the Top 8 unisex concert choirs in the state. This group also competes as a competitive show choir. They are under the direction of Dan Baker & Sandra Manglos.
